Google Adwords Certified For Another Year

It was a long day but I watched all the videos, read all the study guides and caught up on the refresher notes and videos before undertaking two Google Adwords exams.

Google Adwords Certification - what's the crack?

In order to be Google Adwords certified into 2017, I had to pass the Adwords Fundamentals exam and then a second advanced exam. For me, that's on the Search platform but I could have taken the one on the Display Network, Mobile, Google Shopping or Video.

Each exam consisted of 100 multiple choice questions with a timeframe of two hours to complete them but I managed with pass rates of 87% both times.

Despite what some people may think, I actually rather enjoy updating my certifications - both for Adwords and for Hubspot.  It gives me a chance to test my knowledge and identify areas that made me pause for thought when answering the questions.  

Getting certified for Adwords was particularly hard this year because they have made a lot of changes over the last couple of weeks - removing the ads from the right hand sidebar and replacing them with Google Shopping's Product Listing Ads.  They have also brought in a lot of new automation tools, as well as increasing the involvement of mobile apps.

Renewing my certifications and continuing to service clients means that I can continue to proudly display the Google Partner badge for Lollipop.

And, now that I've proved that I can still set up ads the way that Google wants it done, I can now go back to setting them up to get the best return on investment for my clients.
