How To Add A Manager To My Google Plus Page - Updated December 2015

by Jo Shaer, on December 2, 2015

You need to add a Manager to your Google Plus Page if you want someone to help you to manage your map listing.

Changes to Google Plus Local Pages - November 2015

However, at the end of November 2015, Google made another change and started downgrading the social side of Google+ for Local business pages on their maps.

They now seem to be calling these listings Google Local.

The Settings Cog to the right of the Edit button on the Google My Business page was removed and so the old, easy way of adding a Manager to a Google Plus Page disappeared.

However, Google tell us that it is still possible to add a Manager if you use Classic Google Plus.

Log into your Google+ account, click the image at the top right to display the profile picture of your page and click that.

Click Settings

This then takes you through to the usual page for adding a Manager

On the Settings page, click Managers from the navigation bar that runs across the top.

On the Managers page, select the blue Add Manager button

A pop up invitation box will give you the option to add email addresses so you can invite people to become managers

You are allowed to invite up to 20 in one day.

You can then choose whether the invitation should be to become a Manager or a Communications Manager.

The new Manager will receive an email from the Google+ team inviting them to confirm their acceptance.

Click the link.

Then CLICK THE MANAGE PAGE button to complete the process.

For now, I have retained the old instructions in case they change things back over the next few weeks.

First you need to know the email address that your intended Manager uses to log in to Google Plus

Only Page Owners can add or remove Managers - although Managers can later remove themselves.

Go to your business page on Google Plus. You can tell it is your business page because it has +NameOfBusiness at the to right.

Now, at the top left click on the Google My Business option

When the main dashboard appears, find the gear/cog at the right and click

The drop down menu will show Settings, click that

Communications Managers have the same rights as a Manager except that they cannot edit the profile, manage YouTube videos or hangouts.

Once the invitation has been received, your intended Manager has to accept this.

Then the Page will appear to them as an option in the top right hand corner of their page where their profile picture is.

Just click the drop down menu next to the profile picture.

Then select the Page to Manage.
