The new rules from Pinterest say that if a site is used for commercial purposes, then it must be a business account, not a personal one.
Convert Pinterest Account From Personal To Business
Start by going to http://business.pinterest.com and select the red “Join as a Business” button.
Press the login button at the bottom of the sign-up window to access your personal account.
You’ll then be directed to this window, from here sign in to your personal account.
When you’re logged in, go to the right-hand side of the screen to the three dots. A dropdown will appear when clicked. Click on “Switch to Business”.
Enter your information in to the required fields. Adding your website address is essential for helping customers to find you! After all, you don't want potential customers lingering on your social media pages... you want to drive them to your website where they can make a purchase or request a quote.
Your account should now re-load and display the name of your business. You now have a business account!
Now return to the right-hand side of your screen and click on the avatar icon and enter settings.
Scroll until you see the profile section.
From here you can:
- edit your Pinterest URL
- add an About You Description
- add your location
- verify your website
Connect your website to your Pinterest business account
Additionally, if you wish to connect your website to your account, you will be asked to verify your website. To do this, add the meta tag to the header of your website following the instructions in the image above.
