Google Plus Small Local Business Help and Advice on Optimisation

by Jo Shaer, on December 26, 2012

Hello I am in the process of having a small website built by a friend,
and I am about to set up a new business working as a beauty therapist.

I have been told I need to have a Google plus
business page - can you let me know how much you would charge to set
one up for me? Or do you only do this for your office areas? Many

My policy is always to try to help small business owners to do the things they can do for themselves. It tends to help build up a trust which makes them come back to me when they need something done that they cannot do without some experience in this area.

Hi Rebecca

If you are a local business with a physical bricks and mortar location whose address you are happy to have on the internet, then you should have a Google Plus business page.

Here are some instructions on how to do a basic Google Places listing for yourself.

Having said that, Google Places is in the middle of a transition to Google Plus and from there to Google Plus Social Local so everything is going through a major transition and, therefore, I cannot promise that everything will be exactly the same as detailed in this post or that it will rank - but it is at least a start.

Hope this helps
With Best Wishes
